Next stop, my brother in Wattsburg, PA. It was my birthday, and my daughter had flowers delivered for when I arrived.
Also, my nieces and nephews stopped over to help me celebrate. I got to meet the newest little Merry.
I loved staying at my brothers new place and catching up with all that’s going on. We went tramping through the State Game Lands forests and along adjacent fields with cows.
I left my brother’s house and traveled my longest stretch so far – 400 miles, mostly along the Southern Tier Expressway in New York. The Southern Tier was as beautiful as I remember – traveling in a Big Valley with lots of mountain views, and minimal traffic. I arrived at Schodack Island State Park in Albany. This park would be nice for a family vacation of a few days because it’s right on the Hudson River and there’s lots of space between campsites. But it’s a bit out of the way for an overnight stay, and lacks sewer and water hookups, and WiFi. So I got a chance to test out the my new hotspot.
After Albany, I drove the rest of the way through New York, entered Massachusetts to skirt around Boston, through a bit of New Hampshire, then up into Maine. I arrived around 12 Noon and checked in with the Fantasy RV folks. There were lots of major highways on the way up. Looks like they don’t pay toll booth workers anymore and just take pictures of your license and send you a bill.
