I left for my 2021 Fall RV trip on September 8, 2021. I plan to join up with the 12-day Fall Harvest Tour with Fantasy RV starting in Kennebunkport, Maine on Sept 17, but… a few things first… a stop in Columbus, OH and Erie, PA to visit family and friends.
I’m new at this and trying to drive an RV 356 miles one day, then 342 miles the next day was definitely too long. It seems I need to double the time the GPS says. I have since learned that many people follow something like a 2/2/2 rule – drive no more than 200 miles a day, stop for a break every 2 hours (or be at your campsite by at least 2pm), and finally stay at least 2 nights
These photos are at my 1st campsite at Fair Harbor RV Park (#98) in Perry, Georgia.
Second night was a stop in Tennessee at the Clinton/Knoxville KOA (#14) and like most KOA’s, was packed tight like sardines. My picnic table was butt up against my neighbor’s sewer. Hmmm… I understand now why many campground reviews say “it’s a typical KOA campground”, and what that means.
I’m not doing anything except driving. It’ll take a few days to get up north.
I woke in the morning to fog in the valley. All I could see was the very tops of the hills and clouds below. On to Columbus, OH.
