I’m in Quechee Gorge KOA, VT for a couple of nights. This had to be my favorite campground because of all the trees.

I arranged a visit with Diane Nelson and Sandy Hummer who were friends and co-workers of my late sister, Carolyn. I so much wanted to call Carolyn and tell her.

Our first choice of restaurant was closed because they couldn’t find enough workers to open up the dining room (COVID). We settled on a Thai restaurant, always my favorite.
There was another big campfire at night and lots of jokes and stories. However those in this photo below look like they’ve put in a long day.

The next day we first visited Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site in Plymouth Notch, Vermont. I thought it would be so boring, but I really enjoyed it. It had the house he was born in which was attached to a General Store. It also had other buildings – a barn, schoolhouse, post office, church, etc.

Also Plymouth Cheese was there on site making artisan cheeses.

We then visited the Billings Farm and Museum. The “COVID police” were very active here and even tried to make us social distance outside. Yawn. The farm was very interesting as it was a very progressive farm when originally built.

And finally, we made a stop at Simon Pierce Glassware. The glass was very expensive, but the town was delightful with a covered bridge.

When we got back to the campground, Marilyn and I hiked the short distance down the Quechee Gorge. It was always a favorite of mine when I used to visit Carolyn.
