Drove back to my brother’s house. We walked the fields and visited the pond with the dog, Shiloh. Shiloh isn’t long for this world but still found great joy in the walk and the water. (Postscript – Shiloh passed about 2 months after my visit.)
The night before (Sept 26) I stopped at Belden Hill Campground near Harpursville, New York. It was right off the interstate, and had lots of full-time campers. It would have been nice to stay there as it had lots of trees and a lake, but I just chose the pull through site near the entrance because I had a long drive to my brothers. The night after (Sept 28) I stopped at Mash Fork Campground at Camp Creek State Park near South Charleston, WV. It was a very small campground with lots of space between sites, but not all sites had water or sewer, including mine. It was very rural, surrounded by the mountains which blocked all cell reception. Looks like there could have been some interesting hikes if there was time.
