Going Caching

Bridge of Locks - one of my favorite places in Rome

One last stop on this trip.  I picked up a friend, Suzi, at the Chattanooga, Tennessee airport so that we could attend the Rome, Georgia “Going Caching” Geocaching Mega Event.  It event was okay, but not as exciting as when I first attended 2 years ago, before COVID, and with my friend Ellie.  We concentrated on finding only the Adventure Lab caches.  That was enough to keep us busy, even though there were plenty of other caches and activities in the area.  People didn’t seem as friendly and helpful as pre-COVID.

Lots of caches in this cemetery, also, lots of stairs.

We stayed at Cedar Creek Park several miles outside of Rome.  It was my least favorite campground.  It was essentially a gravel parking lot.  There was a creek nearby and the second night several tent campers came and set up camp between our site and the creek, and the kids screamed and hollered all night.
